Description 
* Based off a doujin (privately published) game by 07th expansion.
It is the 58th year of Showa and summer is early. It is only June, yet one is able to enjoy the serenade of cicadas at noon and the buzz of higurashi in the evening.
Our story takes place in Hinamizawa Village. It is a small village with a population of less than 2,000, a place cursed by Oyashiro-Sama
Hinamizawa Village Consecutive Unnatural Murders (1979 ~ 1983).
Every year, during the festival of Watanagashi, one person dies and another disappears. It is a cycle of death which started with a fight over the construction plans for a dam. That incident was covered up by the police and has now come back to haunt the village.
Is all this due to a plot or a coincidence... or a curse?
Is this tragedy inevitable? Is there nothing you can do but accept it?

Amazing.. just amazing. Imagine the mental state of Death Note, the comedy and fun of a typical “school life” anime, and a less jumpy version of the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi’s timeline packed together. Well worth watching and will probably leave you guessing and wanting more up until the very end (after which you will probably want to move onto the next season). Be warned though, ***some scenes may be concidered violent or cruel.***

anyone else get lost around episode 25 26 that its some sort of alien parasite that causes the many realities cuz i got preattyyy loost bout it
i just watched OVA 1 and it seems to be lagging. the subtitles are not in sync with the video. then again it might be my net, im on slower conection at the moment. but i still think its the video. anyone else have this problem??

this show is awesome! it’s cutesy, psycho, witty, and more! my fave character there is Rena Ryuugu and Keiichi Maebara. there’s really something about Rika. it’s as if she knows everything.
I was pretty entertained by this series. A mysterious and dark anime but with the touch of comedy. Also for future audiences, the way the episodes are aired are similar to Melancholy but not that extreme.
Curious and a lot of mystery. Watch 2nd season…=p
